About the X-Men:
Realizing mutants were the next step in human evolution, Professor Charles Xavier gathered gifted teenagers to be his first class of students. His goal to protect and educate the next generation of homo superior, while pursuing a dream of harmony.
About the Creation:
Originally created in 2004, this print later became a tribute to artist Dave Cockrum. Dave was co-creator of X-Men characters Nightcrawler Storm and Colossus for Marvel Comics. He was a great designer for the new X-Men in the 1970s and early 80s. The original art by Bob McLeod was donated for a fundraiser in Dave's honor after his passing.
About the Artist:
Bob McLeod, born in Florida in 1951 is a Hall of Fame comic art legend who is best known for co-creating Marvel Comics’ The New Mutants with writer Chris Claremont. Bob’s illustrious credentials also include work on The Incredible Hulk, Conan the Barbarian, Legion of Super Heroes, Detective Comics, Wonder Woman and The New Titans, Star Wars and Spider-Man.
