About Planet Comics:
Planet Comics was a science fiction comic book title published by Fiction House from January 1940 to Winter 1953. It was the first comic book dedicated wholly to science fiction. Like most of Fiction House's early comics titles, Planet Comics was a spinoff of a pulp magazine, in this case Planet Stories. Like the magazine before it, Planet Comics features space operatic tales of muscular, heroic space adventurers who are quick with their "ray pistols" and always running into gorgeous women who need rescuing from bug-eyed space aliens or fiendish interstellar bad guys.

About the Creation:
A reimagining of the classic comic book cover art from PLANET COMICS #66 (1952, Maurice Whitman) from the Golden Age of Comics and early science-fiction adventure books. "I chose this cover because the guy was being rescued by the girl. I thought that was fun and different. My cover is not a typical recreation, following normal expectations. I kept the pose and same composition as the original but looked at it from the opposite perspective. I kept true to the costumes and colors to give it that period look but in my style. I wanted to create something different than what everybody else might do.” - Joe Rubinstein

About the Artist:

He currently enjoys exploring painting techniques and creating portraits.
