About the Professional:
Mathilda (Natalie Portman) is only 12 years old, but is already familiar with the dark side of life: her abusive father stores drugs for corrupt police officers, and her mother neglects her. Léon (Jean Reno), who lives down the hall, tends to his houseplants and works as a hired hitman for mobster Tony (Danny Aiello). When her family is murdered by crooked DEA agent Stansfield (Gary Oldman), Mathilda joins forces with a reluctant Léon to learn his deadly trade and avenge her family's deaths.
About the Creation:
Recognized as ‘The Professional’ in North America, the 1994 English-language French action-thriller film was written and directed by Luc Besson and was the first film credit for actress Natalie Portman (Star Wars). "This print was an act of love for this character and the film and is my vision of a styled grown-up version of Mathilda. It is a personal sketch that I am excited to share because I hope more people discover this wonderful and exciting story. A personal dream, I would love to develop a graphic novel sequel to the film and continue Mathilda’s story. – Francine Delgado

Fran(cine) Delgado is a Costa Rican-born artist (Pura Vida!) now living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Skilled in many aspects of design, her most recognized fan artworks include the female heroes from X-Men: Evolution and her on-screen illustration work include The Addams Family, Monster High, and Megaman.
