About the Green Hornet:
Green Hornet comic books began in December 1940 published by Helnit Comics (sometimes called Holyoke), with the writing attributed to Fran Striker. The stories were loosely based on episodes of the radio show. This series ended after six issues.
Several months later, Harvey Comics launched its own version, beginning with issue #7. This series lasted until issue #47 in 1949; during that time it also changed its title twice: first to Green Hornet Fights Crime (issue #34) and later to Green Hornet, Racket Buster (issue 44).
About the Creation:
A recreation of the classic comic book cover art from GREEN HORNET #10 (1942, Arturo Cazeneuve) from the Golden Age of Comics and early detective books. A true "car guy" John was excited to feature the classic car character Black Beauty, who helped Kato and Britt Reid catch the bad guys. "I found it to be an even more interesting car than the Batmobile. I decided to translate my version from the 40's to the 60's reality with a Chrysler Imperial." - John Hebert
About the Artist:
John Hebert, born in New York State is a Marvel alumnus whose earliest canvas was the walls of his family home. At age four, he sketched his vision for how TV’s Batman and Robin (Adam West and Burt Ward) would escape from The Penguin (Burgess Meredith).
At the insistence of his mother, John’s media transitioned to pencil and paper where his talents accelerated, accepting a job to draw his first comic book just 2 days before his graduation from art school... John’s most recognized work includes the Punisher: War Zone, X-Men Adventures, Deathlok, Captain America, Spider-Man, Sable, and Jonny Quest.
