About Vampirella:
Vampirella is a fictional vampire super-heroine created by Forrest J Ackerman and comic book artist Trina Robbins in Warren Publishing's black-and-white horror comics magazine Vampirella #1, a sister publication of Creepy and Eerie.

About the Creation:
A pinup poster of horror hostess turned super heroine Vampirella, painted in honor of her birthday by artist James C. Mulligan. “I showed an earlier draft of this print to Neal Adams and he beat me up over it. I have incredible reverence for Neal and his notes, many of which made it into this piece including her positioning. It was my idea to include the bats helping to celebrate her birthday with ‘blood velvet’ cake, and if you look carefully there’s a little homage to a favorite hero of horror in the painting with her.” - James C Mulligan

About the Artist:
Irish, American artist James C. Mulligan was born in Southern California in 1978. Best recognized for his contributions to the Disney Fine Art gallery, his pop culture fine art paintings and portraits are collected by a long list of celebrities including Johnny Depp, Roger Daltrey, Neil Patrick Harris, (late) Hugh Hefner, Chuck Liddell, and the Presley family. In addition to his artwork, James is a significant contributor to the Disney universe, characters, and theme park attractions.
