2nd GOLDEN AGE TRIBUTE | NOW SHIPPING
Trade Dress | Limited Edition: 250
About the Phantom Lady:
Phantom Lady was created by the Eisner & Iger studio, one of the first to produce comics on demand for publishers. The character's early adventures were drawn by Arthur Peddy. As published by Fox Feature Syndicate in the late 1940s, the busty and scantily-clad Phantom Lady is a notable and controversial example of 'Good Girl Art', a style of comic art depicting voluptuous female characters in provocative situations and pin-up poses that contributed to widespread criticism of the medium's effect on children. The character was ranked 49th in Comics Buyer's Guide's "100 Sexiest Women in Comics" list.
About the Creation:
A reimagining of the classic comic book cover art from PHANTOM LADY #16 (1948, Matt Baker) from the Golden Age of Comics and early detective books. "I chose to update and empower the cover character in my version, a better representation of the ‘Beautiful Beast’ in the story, showing how she might take control of a situation with a man lurking outside her window with a gun, and added a greater sense of action instead of a mystery." - Chad Hardin
About the Artist:
Chad Hardin grew up in the desert of Las Vegas, Nevada. His earliest work was the animation of video games, including God of War’ and ‘Destroy All Humans’. Today, he is best recognized as an illustrator of ‘Harley Quinn’ in the hit DC Comics series, and creator of ‘Death Watch’ with Artist Elite.
