About the Scarlet Witch:
The Scarlet Witch is first depicted as a reluctant supervillain along with her twin brother, Quicksilver, both founding members of the Brotherhood of Mutants. A year after her debut, she joined the Avengers superhero team and ever since has often been depicted as a regular member of that or related teams. In 1975, she married her android teammate Vision, later using borrowed magical forces to make herself pregnant, resulting in twin sons William ("Billy") and Thomas (“Tommy”). Stories in 1989 wiped Tommy and Billy from existence (they would later reappear as the heroes called Wiccan and Speed) and removed Vision's emotions, leading to the annulment of his and Wanda's marriage.
About the Creation:
Years before the Avengers or Wandavision, this pinup was inspired by a Scarlet Witch cosplayer. "This was done a few years ago as a donation for a Comic Day in Albany New York. It’s based on one of the models dressed up that day as Scarlet Witch. A lot of the profile prints in my portfolio share a similar origin story drawn for the players in costume.” – John Hebert
About the Artist:
John Hebert, born in New York State is a Marvel alumnus whose earliest canvas was the walls of his family home. At age four, he sketched his vision for how TV’s Batman and Robin (Adam West and Burt Ward) would escape from The Penguin (Burgess Meredith).
At the insistence of his mother, John’s media transitioned to pencil and paper where his talents accelerated, accepting a job to draw his first comic book just 2 days before his graduation from art school... John’s most recognized work includes the Punisher: War Zone, X-Men Adventures, Deathlok, Captain America, Spider-Man, Sable, and Jonny Quest.
