About the Guardians of the Galaxy:
The Guardians of the Galaxy have been idealized by Peter Quill, the legendary Star-Lord, as a pro-active team to protect the cosmos. Quill idealized the team in light of two subsequent crisis that had forced independent heroes to improvise a resistance when the galaxy was threatened, namely the incursion of the Annihilation Wave and the conquest of the Kree Empire by the Phalanx. The Guardians of the Galaxy usually transit between being a sanctioned police force in space or a group of outlawed mercenaries. By expecting no one else would do their heroic work, their goal is to protect innocent civilizations from being destroyed or enslaved by opportunistic invaders.

About the Creation:
A vintage-style movie poster of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, volume two by artist Joe Rubinstein.  “Inspired by the great movies, I just wanted to get all the team in a group shot. I  had attended an award ceremony honoring Stan Lee, and my role was to draw and entertain people. (I was drawing because my balloon animals suck). All night long I was asked, can you draw a Baby Groot? Clearly, people responded well to the film franchise. When I came out I knew there was an audience for the Guardians. Everything I draw I do from hand, so the end result doesn’t have the fancy photoshop features and often gets credit as “old school” or “vintage”. Which I guess at my age I am.” - Joe Rubinstein
