About the Lion King:
This Disney animated feature follows the adventures of the young lion Simba (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), the heir of his father, Mufasa (James Earl Jones). Simba's wicked uncle, Scar (Jeremy Irons), plots to usurp Mufasa's throne by luring father and son into a stampede of wildebeests. But Simba escapes, and only Mufasa is killed. Simba returns as an adult (Matthew Broderick) to take back his homeland from Scar with the help of his friends Timon (Nathan Lane) and Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella).

About the Creation:
A tribute to the classic animated film The Lion King, this fine art poster features Mufasa and Simba, father and son, strolling around the kingdom with Pride Rock seen in the distance. "I created this artwork to coincide with the anniversary release of the fist animated Lion King film. Rob Minkoff (director) is a friend of mine and was there to help unveil it. A personal touch, the day after my father passed I was at Disneyland saw this print in the gallery window, at the top of the store, the last one they had. I took it as a neat sign or nod from my Dad." - James C. Mulligan

Irish, American artist James C. Mulligan was born in Southern California in 1978. Best recognized for his contributions to the Disney Fine Art gallery, his pop culture fine art paintings and portraits are collected by a long list of celebrities including Johnny Depp, Roger Daltrey, Neil Patrick Harris, (late) Hugh Hefner, Chuck Liddell, and the Presley family.
