MBartist EXCLUSIVE!
Limited Edition, Golden Age Tribute by Jamie Coker:
PLANET COMICS #70 Partial Facsimile
Cover A: Trade Dress - Limited Edition of 500
About Planet Comics:
Planet Comics was a science fiction comic book title published by Fiction House from January 1940 to Winter 1953. It was the first comic book dedicated wholly to science fiction. Like most of Fiction House's early comics titles, Planet Comics was a spinoff of a pulp magazine, in this case Planet Stories. Like the magazine before it, Planet Comics features space operatic tales of muscular, heroic space adventurers who are quick with their "ray pistols" and always running into gorgeous women who need rescuing from bug-eyed space aliens or fiendish interstellar bad guys.
About the Creation:
When choosing a cover I knew I wanted something that would jump off the page. When I saw the alien abduction on issue #70 I saw an opportunity for my aesthetic of high drama, coming to get you! I imagined the alien going full bad guy, taking over the world and crushing the humans while his lady captive desperately fights to stop him, far more active than the damsel in the original cover. – Jaime Coker
About the Artist:
Jaime Coker grew up in Hawaii, where he met his wife and creative partner Trisha. He is a self taught artist, best known for his pop culture mash ups and 'Villainous Villain' series. His art, like his personality, is often vibrant and engaging, celebrating a genuine passion for fandom.
